Annual ‘Cruise the Clarence 2024’

The annual ‘Cruise the Clarence 2024’ for the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club starts on Easter Friday, March 29, and runs until Friday April 5.

It is a time when vessels from other areas come together as a group, to enjoy the mighty Clarence River.

Vessels start from Iluka, visiting Maclean, Lawrence, Brushgrove, Grafton, Ulmarra, Harwood and end up at Yamba Shores Tavern. Participants enjoy local shops, galleries, taverns, pubs, open spaces for BBQ’s, museums, as well as Bill Kearns (our local bush poet), Down River Ukes Band and are welcomed by Aboriginal Elders.

The highlight this year will be showcasing the 119th Highland Games.

The SICYC raises awareness for Prostate Cancer and hopefully a few funds will be raised during the week event. We have already 11 vessels registered for the cruise. Anyone can join the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club. For any information, please phone Rick or Glad Smith on 0415 350 974.
