Alex Podbereski takes Yamba midweek

A field of 158 players contested the midweek Stableford competition with visitors from 14 different clubs enjoying the unseasonable April warmth. A Grade winner was the usual suspect Alex Podbereski with 40pts from Greg Wyllie 38pts and 3rd went to Graham Kulmar with 36pts. In A Reserve Grade Richard Beresford returned 40pts to give him the win from Col Cromack 37pts and 3rd on a count back was Murray Fenwick from Armidale with 35pts. B Grade saw Bruce Turner take the win with 38pts from Bruce Ginn 37pts on a count back from Vic Heron 37pts 3rd. C Grade winner and score of the day went to Ken Wood who returned 43pts from John Lloyd 41pts and 3rd was John McNamara 40pts. NTPs: SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Des Hall 329cm; Peter Campbell Physio 9th Paul Reed 116cm; SeaFire 10th Garry Payne 139cm; Yamba Barber Shop 12th saw John Dwyer finish only 20cm; SeaFire 17th Kev Moran 246cm. Balls for the day went to 33 with 18 on the back. Saturday Stableford Contesting the Stableford event were 119 players with the A Grade going to Stewart Hase with 41pts from Greg Wyllie (second second in a week) 38pts and 3rd went to Chris Holst with 37pts. A Reserve winner was Andy Wilson with 37pts from Ross Allomes 36pts on a count back from Cranky Frankie Foxover 36pts. In B Grade Paul Edgar took the win with 41pts from Kevin Molloy 38pts and 3rd went to Paul Austin with 38pts. In C Grade 32 points was enough to take the win or even get a place with all 3 winners returning the low score, which coincidently wasn’t enough to win them a ball. On The count back Ross Wilson 1st Dennis Walpole 2nd and 3rd place went to Don Schussler all with 32pts.
