All ready to ‘Return & Earn’. Image: contributed

A heartfelt thank you from Maclean Lions Return & Earn

We have finally settled into our new container office – may have taken a while, but we have finished it.

We would like to thank the following the following companies for their ongoing support: Harvey Norman; Quality 1 Security Company; Tomra; Hannah’s Haulage; MI Organics; Men Shed; Mitre 10.

Without the hard work of the following people, our “blank canvas” container would still be in its infancy: JJ Earthworks – for his patience and creating a great pad for us; Harris Crane & Equipment Hire – for their extremely quick and friendly service in moving our container; Rinnai Australia – for our hot water system; David Sutton – former Clarence Valley Council Open Space Co-ordinator; Brian Reid – the electrical work and keeping an eye on the works; Mark Dalby – having patience and doing the plumbing; Ray Godfrey – for doing an outstanding job on the painting of the interior; Ashley Brown – for doing the framework and the fit out; Terry Ferguson – for helping with the fit out and insulation; Malcolm Harrison – for helping with the fit out; Clive Smith – for the grinding and drop saw work, installing the awning; Mark Ingram – for his vision; Chris Robertson – for all his effort in getting the office over the completion line.

We would also like to thank all our hardworking volunteers, who turn up every week with a smile and a joke and count containers as though they were machines. Your work is truly appreciated. And finally, to the community for faithfully supporting us and helping to keep the environment clean from plastics, aluminium, and glass.
