Anytime Fitness Junior Team of the Year: Winner: Maclean High School Show Cattle.

2022 Clarence Valley Sports Awards

The Clarence Valley Independent congratulates all winners and nominees of the 2022 Clarence Valley Sports Awards, proudly supported by Clarence Valley Council (CVC), Clarence Media, and Loving Life FM.

Maclean Show Society Bruce Green and Col Marsh Memorial Trophy:

Winner – Rex Green.

Mr Green was recognised for his outstanding community contributions and involvement with local sporting organisations including the Lawrence Rodeo, (formally the Cane Harvest Rodeo), Grafton Pony Club, and the Grafton Show Society.

Holly Butcher Memorial Volunteer of the Year:

Nominees: Anton Sluyters – Yamba Football Club, Brett Reynolds – Rushforth Park Town Clubs, Belinda Martin – South Services Gunners Soccer Club, Tania Kane – Lower Clarence Netball.

Winner: Tania Kane – Lower Clarence Netball.

Terry West was inducted into the Grafton Shoppingworld Sporting Hall of Fame in recognition of his long and proud association with the Clarence Valley Sports Awards, and his dedication in ensuring the annual event continues to go ahead each year.

Mr West has been involved with sports including basketball and athletics for over 50 years, and has steadfastly served local clubs across a variety of roles during that time.

The Pine Street Oval was renamed the Terry West Oval in his honour in 2013.

He received the Max Godbee Award in 2016, and is a worthy inductee into the Grafton Shoppingworld Sporting Hall of Fame.
