Your library – your place – Grafton, Maclean, Yamba, Iluka and mobile libraries

Blogging workshops Want to know the ins and outs of blogging? Book in for this free workshop. Blogging is a cost effective and powerful way to establish yourself as an expert in your field, connect with new clients and keep them coming back. This is a great opportunity to learn from online professionals. The format will be seminar-style, so no need to bring laptops. It is suitable for all – for those just starting out/interested in having a blog or wanting to learn more. Grafton – Tuesday May 24 – 9am-1pm Maclean – Wednesday May 25 – 9am-1pm Author visit – Ruben Meerman ‘The Surfing Scientist’ will visit Maclean and Grafton for author visits with the local school children and an evening author talk that is open for everyone. Ruben’s talks are entertaining, informative and interactive as he explains science in a fun and experimental way. Ruben is a surfer with a physics degree and a passion for all things scientific. He appears on ABC’s Catalyst and was the first resident scientist on Play School. He speaks at conferences, emcees visits primary and high schools, publishes resources for teachers and writes children’s books full of experiments. He has appeared on Studio 3, Sleek Geeks, Roller Coaster, Triple J’s Super Request, ABC Local Radio, Can We Help, Sunrise, Today and Mornings with Kerri-Anne. Ruben’s author talks will be held at Grafton Library on Tuesday, May 31, with school visits in the morning and the evening author talk at 5:30pm for a 6pm start at the Sir Earle Page Library and Education Centre in Grafton. He will visit Maclean on Wednesday, June 1, for a morning visit for the Lower River schools. HSC study nights – Yamba Library Wednesday, May 18 HSC study nights will be held again this year at Grafton, Maclean and Yamba Libraries. They kick off on Wednesday night (May 18) from 5pm-8pm at Yamba Library. The study nights will be held for HSC students only with pizza, snacks and study space provided. Maclean’s study night is Wednesday June 22, and at Grafton on Tuesday July 19 and Tuesday September 13. For further information, please contact Grafton, Maclean or Yamba libraries.
