Yamba to host WGNR Annual Tournament

While there has been no golf to report on this week, there is still golf on the horizon.

Yamba Ladies will be hosting the biggest event on the Women’s Golf Northern Rivers calendar, the WGNR Annual Tournament, to be held from Monday, July 25 to Wednesday, July 27.

The event will encompass two days of Stroke/Stableford competitions ($33 per day) followed by Wednesday’s Foursomes ($33 per player). Block entry (all three days) is $95. On the Tuesday night, a two-course dinner will also be held ($40) along with the presentation of prizes for the Monday and Tuesday rounds. Wednesday prizes will be presented after play on that day. The number of divisions will be determined by the number of entries. Completed entry forms should be sent to ladies@yambagolf.com.au and any enquiries to Margery Allison on 0409 863 070. Cart hire will need to be organised independently through the Pro Shop on 6646 1656.

Our upcoming Wednesday events, weather permitting, will include: Single Stableford Rounds (Wednesday, June 8 and 15); No play due to Combined High Schools’ (CHS) Tournament (Wednesday, June 22); Monthly Medal and Golf NSW Medal (Wednesday, June 29) and Texas Stableford Tee Off For Cancer (Wednesday, July 6).

If any ladies are available to act as Spotters during the CHS Tournament which will be held from Monday, June 20 to Thursday, June 23, please let Leigh know. Young, talented golfers will be travelling to Yamba from all over NSW to participate in this event, so any assistance would be appreciated.

The weather forecast looks relatively promising so hopefully, we’ll soon be back on the course unhindered due to cancellations. We can only hope.

Happy golfing.
