Santa has his elves and mixed bowls has Ros Moore – works as hard as any elf and is keeping the Tuesday mixed bowls running smoothly during the ladies’ break.

Today was the final day of mixed bowls for 2021 and Ros is having a well-earned break for a couple of weeks but will be back in the selection room again on Tuesday January 4 to continue her good work.

Today there was a field of cheery contenders decked out in their Christmas finery and it was Monica Parker’s team of V. Beddow and D. Atkinson who took home the Bowlo Bucks defeating P. Chilcott, K. Mason, H. Atkinson; runners-up went to M. Sakac, M. Stone, C. Gunning who defeated K. Gunning, R.  Moore and B. Andrews.

Consolation went to the Pairs team of B. Backshall, T. Allen defeated by D. Backshall, S. Butler.

In another triples game M. Abbott, J. Abbott, A. Abbott d S. Lindsay, C. Aitchison, C. Vagg.

With our bowling year 2021 behind us we look forward to new horizons for all bowlers in 2022 – fresh Championships to be contested, and some new challenges with the advent of unification between men’s and women’s bowls later in the year – interesting times ahead.
