Lion Gordon Saunders from Yamba Lions Club has presented a cheque for $1,000 to Unit Commander Frank Bond of Yamba Iluka Marine Rescue recently at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba.

The Club has been busy with Bingo on Monday mornings and Tuesday nights as well as the raffles at the Yamba Golf Club, plus the monster raffles Friday nights at the Bowlo.

On Saturday March 2, several members cooked a free sausage sizzle at the Lions Park to celebrate “Lions Awareness Week”.  This was well received especially by the skate park patrons.

Sunday March 3, our Club members also served morning tea and lunch for the Seniors Week celebration at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba.

Our Club will be visiting Maclean Lions for a fun night Monday March 25, so members, please notify Peter Bennett at the next meeting on March 14 if you plan on attending.

If any community members are thinking that they might like to join a Service Club, meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba commencing 7 for 7.30pm. You would be made most welcome.
