Yamba lady golfers medal at Casino

Last week’s golfing calendar was disrupted due to course conditions and to an invitational golf event being held last Friday; however, a group of seven ladies travelled to Casino to compete in the Beef Round Up Day.

The best placed from Yamba was the Jenny Muir and Noni Rixon pairing who came in 2nd in the Two Ball event. Carol MacPherson won the Longest Drive and Jenny Muir won the Veterans Single Stableford prize. With some fabulous prizes, raffles and their usual delicious home-made afternoon tea, the Casino ladies provided a great day of golf. Well done ladies!

The Grafton Jacaranda Open Day which was to be held last Friday will now take place on Friday, November 18.

Fine conditions enticed 14 ladies onto the course last Saturday and Gwynne Thomas was a very happy winner with 35pts. Kathy Parker won the NTP. Congratulations ladies.

This Wednesday will be the Medal of Medals Stroke round and, due to the annual Yamba Open, no play will take place this Friday. Greens maintenance will be undertaken next week. The course will be partially open next Monday, closed on Tuesday and members will be advised regarding whether play will be allowed next Wednesday closer to the day.

Next Wednesday will be the Yamba Ladies AGM to be held in the auditorium from 9.30am. Entry to the auditorium will be via the side door near the car park; however, the Deck Café will be open for those who wish to catch up beforehand from 9am.

Finally, a large contingent of Yamba ladies will travel to Byron Bay to participate in their annual two-day tournament this Thursday and Friday. Good luck everyone.
