Yamba home to Australia’s best value destinations

Yamba has made Trivago’s top 10 list of Australia’s Best Value Destinations Ranking for 2016, demonstrating its strong tourism appeal, Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis announced last week. Mr Gulaptis said the list by hotel website Trivago was compiled from over 200 million hotel ratings and more than 250 online booking websites. “This wonderful achievement demonstrates that our region continues to lead the way when it comes to affordable holiday destinations and I congratulate our tourism industry for delivering outstanding visitor experiences and tourism products which continue to draw people back year after year. “Yamba offers value and quality accommodation and I encourage everyone to get out and explore our hotels, restaurants and local attractions. Whether it’s a short break or a longer stay, our fantastic region offers something for everyone,” he said. Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres welcomed the accolade and said the list highlights some of the State’s best hidden gems. “In the year ending September 2015, tourism in NSW was worth more than $30.2 billion in international and domestic overnight and day trip visitor expenditure,” Mr Ayres said. “It is vital that we continue to support the tourism businesses across Regional NSW to help us achieve our goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.” Other Regional NSW towns which made the top 10 list included Merimbula, Ulladulla, and Forster.
