Yamba Bowlo croquet host Pottsville

Wednesday March 13

Players from Pottsville couldn’t wait until Wednesday to visit Yamba and made the journey down on Tuesday night staying at the Aston Villa Motel and were joined by a few of the Yamba crew for a fun evening of good company, laughter and great pizzas.

Wednesday competition was well attended with 36 players turning up to show off their skills. With no scoring being done and no fines for hitting the centre post some were a bit disappointed as they managed to have one of their better days.

The Sheriff’s Badge was won by Gail for hitting a hoop to hoop shot. For a further challenge, the centre post was replaced by an Easter rabbit and the challenge was to try to hit it. Oliver, Suzanne, Ray K and Ray G each took home the prize of a chocolate rabbit.

A great morning was had by all followed by an enjoyable lunch in the club’s Norfolk Bistro.

Thank you to the Yamba Bowling Club greenskeepers for setting up the courts helping make the day run smoothly.

If you would like to join us for a game, we meet at Yamba Bowling Club on Wednesday morning at 8.15 to commence play at 8.30. No need to have your own mallet, they can be supplied and one of our friendly members will be only too happy to run through a few basic instructions to get you started.

For further information, phone Fay and John on 0438 768 049.
