Work on Gwydir Highway near Grafton

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from this week on the Gwydir Highway for essential maintenance work 75 kilometres west of Grafton. Roads and Maritime Services will install new drainage to improve safety for motorists. Work started on Monday 19 June and will take about four weeks to complete, weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one lane 24 hours a day and there will be a three metre vehicle width restriction for the duration of work. A reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists and delays of up to 10 minutes may be experienced. Motorists should play their journey and follow the direction of signs and traffic controllers. Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
