Woman dies on Pacific Highway at Tyndale

A woman has tragically passed away after she was hit by a car near Grafton.

Just before 10:30pm on July 26, emergency services were called to the Big River Way off ramp on the Pacific Highway at Tyndale, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to the Coffs/Clarence Police District attended the scene and were told the woman was struck while on the Pacific Highway.

NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the 45-year-old woman at the scene.

Sadly, she could not be revived, and passed away a short time later.

The driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man and his passenger, were uninjured.

The driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
