Surfing The Coldstream Festival is entirely powered by volunteers: organised by the community, for the community. And it takes volunteers with all kinds of skills to deliver this type of event; that’s why there’s probably a role for you at this year’s event. Volunteers don’t just do the work, they make it work. So if you have ever wondered how an event like this works, then the answer is to get behind the scenes and do your bit to assist the core group of volunteers who work pretty much all year round to ensure this community festival remains free for everyone. Volunteer Coordinator Imelda Jennings said the team have a lot of fun on the day. “There is a great sense of camaraderie when you’re working together on an event like this,” she said. “You still get to watch all the bands and other acts, only you’ll be selling festival merchandise or carrying out basic stewarding roles while doing so.” The festival committee are seeking assistance with roles including site set up and decoration, Art Walk coordination and general crowd stewarding. If you have a good head for numbers and a smile, perhaps you would like to assist in the sale of merchandise at our info tent? And if you like working outdoors and with your hands, join our site team who help set up and pack away the festival infrastructure on Friday 14 and Sunday 16 October.
