Two vehicles set alight in South Grafton

Investigations are continuing after a white Ford Eco was stolen from outside a Fitzroy Street residence in Grafton on the afternoon of April 10.

Shortly before 2am on April 11, police located the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

Due to the dangerous manner of driving by the occupant of the vehicle, a decision was made to terminate the pursuit.

A short time later the vehicle was located well alight at the rear of Mick Fahey’s Auto Electrical in Bent Street, South Grafton.

Crews from South Grafton Fire and Rescue 307 Station also attended the scene.

As a result of the blaze, two other vehicles parked at the location also sustained fire damage.

Coffs Clarence Police District Chief Inspector Joanne Reid confirmed investigations are ongoing and the vehicles are undergoing forensic examination.

It followed an earlier incident involving a vehicle which was destroyed by fire in Atlanta Close, South Grafton at 11:40pm on April 10.
