Tireless Hospital Auxiliary worker named Clarence Electorate Woman of the Year

cvi   The tireless fundraising efforts of Grafton United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA) President, Alba Linklater has won her the title of ‘Clarence Electorate Woman of the Year’. Clarence MP, Chris Gulaptis made the announcement last week at a celebratory event he hosted at Grafton Base Hospital where Alba was surrounded by her fellow volunteers, Hospital Executive staff, family and friends. “Alba has done an extraordinary job as President of the Grafton Branch of the UHA for over 11 years. “She is motivated, inspiring and is always coming up with new ideas to raise much needed funds for the hospital such as establishing an op-shop on the hospital grounds. “Alba has the respect of her team of hardworking volunteers and under her leadership has raised substantial funds for vital equipment for the hospital including a portable state-of-the-art ultrasound machine and a new birthing bed for the maternity unit. “The countless hours Alba has dedicated to the UHA cause over many years is extraordinary, and this modest award is a way for the community to say thank you,” Mr Gulaptis said. Alba attended the 2016 NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony, which was held at Parliament House, on Wednesday February 9. REX Airlines donated her flights to Sydney and return.
