Time to put smiles on dials

The Disabled Surfers Association is holding its annual gathering at Turners Beach, Yamba, on November 16 – and all volunteers are welcome.

In fact, says vice president Daffy Chisholm, “We need you!

“We guarantee a fun-filled morning in the surf, helping some guys and gals from the disabled community catch a few white-water waves and enjoy some time on the beach, which most of you take for granted.

“In short, we need you to help put some ‘Smiles on the Dials’!”

Volunteers should be at the beach at 9am. Participants arrive at 10am, ready to surf.

“We supply rash vests, sun lotion, water and lunch,” Daffy says, “and if that’s not enough we also put all volunteers into a draw for a surfboard at the end of the season – it’s a win-win situation.”
