Teenager killed in Tabulam car crash

South Sydney NRL star Latrell Mitchell’s 14-year-old cousin was one of two teenagers killed when an alleged stolen car crashed at Tabulam, north of Grafton on Saturday morning.

Following reports of a single vehicle crash, emergency services were called to Plains Station Road, Tabulam, about 60km west of Casino, about 3.20am.

When officers from the Richmond Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene, they found a Volkswagen Tiguan had lost control and collided with a tree.

Two teenagers aged 14 and 15, who were in the front seats of the car were found deceased at the scene.

Three teenagers were taken to hospital, with one in a serious condition while the two others are being treated for minor injuries.

A crime scene was established and specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended to examine the scene.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and anyone with information into the incident or dashcam footage is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
