Tartan Brushy RSL Day Club

Tartan Brushy looks forward to another year of friendship and fun.

We are well into our 2020 programme and recently had our AGM and are thrilled to have Jenny back as coordinator with Carol Noel in training and Trish as deputy, Marie as administrator and Marja and Wendy as supervisors in the kitchen. We thank all of our volunteers for their loyalty last year and look forward to their loyalty in 2020.

On our first day back we had a full hall with visitors from Uniting Care and Mareeba it was a busy day in the kitchen. Country Ramblers entertained us, introducing a new young singer and we wish her well. The trading table went well and monthly birthdays were celebrated. Mark and Tim visited and we made use of them in the kitchen. We had three new members, a great start to 2020.

At our next meeting we were entertained by the Maclean Line Dancers, and had a great morning with volunteers joining in. A quiz and Bingo followed. It was lovely to see members back again after the break.

The latest meeting celebrated Valentine’s Day and we all wore red or pink or both. Rathgar attended and a NZ visitor was welcomed. A wonderful morning of song was enjoyed provided by Alan & Rosemary Christiansen. We hope to see them again soon. A delightful morning tea was enjoyed (with a pink theme of course) and decorated with fresh garden flowers.

Thanks to Rick who fixed our raffle machine and for Marja for getting the microphones sorted out. We look forward to seeing David Bailey at our next meeting.

For enquiries please contact Jenny Blanch on 6644 7006 or Trish York 6644 8165. New members and speakers are always welcome.
