Students at Tabulam Public School will enjoy an abundant supply of freshwater thanks to Native Power who have donated two Atmospheric Water Generators to help combat drought and provide sustainable water supply for the school.

Native Power Chair Russell Bruce said a recent study by the Australian National University showed over 627,736 Australians across 408 remote or regional communities do not have access to good-quality drinking water.

To address this issue, Mr Bruce said the Atmospheric Water Generators (AWG’s) create drinking water from air, providing a sustainable and continual source of clean drinking water for students and staff at Tabulam Public School.

“Installation of these cutting-edge AWGs in outback drought prone areas has commenced with the installation of two units at Tabulam Public School in NSW,” he said.

“At the installation ceremony the school staff and students were introduced to the efficiency of this technology and treated to a sampling of the crystal-clear water produced.

“We believe that by empowering Aboriginal communities with sustainable access to essential resources, we can contribute to their cultural, social, and economic well-being.”

Mr Bruce said they hoped the AWG’s would be the first of many installed throughout NSW schools.

“Native Power with its partners from Clean Waters Oceania are now discussing with the NSW Education Department the installation of another 100 AWGs throughout NSW outback public schools to ensure that children in these areas have permanent access to clean, fresh drinking water,” he said.

Native Power is a leading provider of sustainable infrastructure solutions and is dedicated to empowering Aboriginal communities by providing them with sustainable access to electricity, clean water, food, and internet connectivity.
