Lynne Mowbray SPAR Maclean has scooped a trifecta of awards at the annual SPAR Australia Gala Awards Dinner, which was held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, on August 22. The SPAR supermarket in Maclean is owned by Bob and Judith Little and is managed by Janelle McLachlan and is a regular store winner at the Gala Awards in categories such as customer service; however the major award has always eluded them. SPAR Maclean had a very successful night picking up awards which included Produce Department of the Year, the Store Investment Excellence Award and after 35 years, took out the major award, the National SPAR store of the Year. In a media statement, SPAR Australia congratulated the Maclean store. “SPAR Australia congratulates SPAR Maclean on being awarded the 2015 Produce Department Of The Year, Store Investment Excellence and the coveted SPAR Store of the Year Awards. “SPAR Maclean has definitely gone above and beyond all expectations to provide a superb shopping experience for their customers.” Owners Bob and Judith Little said that this was the first time they had won this prestigious award. “We’re blown away,” said Mr Little. “It’s been a real achievement for the staff and it’s their commitment and dedication to the job that’s given us this award.” “We’re really proud of the staff and what they have done,” he said.
