Wednesday August 1 – men’s social bowls afternoon Three games of pairs on a lovely afternoon saw the following results: Rink (1). T Latter & L Bond d C Roger & G Mallison 34-17; Rink (2). S Weber & P Gillespie d M Andrews & G Taylor 24-20; Rink (3). B Kenny & L Andrew d A Rose & D Andrews 19-13. Winning Rink (2). S Weber, P Gillespie. The Lucky Player went to D Andrews, the resting toucher to P Gillespie & the Jackpot was not won. Friday August 3-mixed bowls Four rinks underway, three games of triples and one of pairs. The results were: Rink (1). T Dwyer, T Latter & R Pendergast d T Collins, M Bettison & L Perrett 24-8; Rink (2). M Mulligan & L Bond d E Carson & G Cupples 27-10; Rink (3). D Corbett, B Kenny & J Flaherty d Hugh, S Scott & L Andrew 20-9; Rink (4). L Ellis, K Davis & B Hayes d D Corbett, B Carson & C Roger 13-11. Winning Rink (3). D Corbett, B Kenny, J Flaherty. M Mulligan took both the resting toucher and Chook end 14 while L Ellis took Chook end 8. The Jackpot was won by Rink (3). Saturday August 4 Today was the running of the SGMBC Majors & Minors. With two Greens filled with competitors from the surrounding clubs, the day was an extremely enjoyable and competitive one.The final results were as follows: Winners: M Andrews & J Pye, second place went to G Samuels & G Harrison and third to J & P Forrester. Well done everyone. Sunday August 5 – Sunday morning mixed social bowls Two rinks enjoyed a rollup today, one a pairs game and one a triples match. The results from the two games as follows: B Hayes, M Mulligan & P Desborough d S Scott, H Nickless & C Roger 26-9; Rink (2). S Weber & M Tinnoch d T Cameron & S Ford 21-12. We are sorry to see our bowls organiser and secretary regretfully forego their positions. Many thanks to both L Bond & L Perrett for the great effort they have contributed Wednesdays, Fridays, Tournaments and Pennant & Zone events.
