Local photographer Stephen Otton has supplied the ‘Independent’ with a photograph he took several weeks ago of the two year old albino kangaroo known locally as ‘Beano’. Beano was hit by a motor vehicle at James Creek last week and then, according the local resident Angela Nielsen, “some lowlife sliced off his ears and tail”. Stephen said the photograph was taken near the Braham Stud. “I knew he (Beano) must be from the Townsend area and did several searches as I was keen to get more photos…but then he was gone. This has really upset me as no doubt these little white guys are just so beautiful and so rare”.
