For some time, I have been going to write to comment on the quality of the local journalism that the Independent represents and the necessity for such a journal.

There can be no further procrastination. The Murdoch proud print mastheads are gone, even though they have been pale imitations of real newspapers.

The responsibilities of the Independent in sustaining a viable quality print outlet have multiplied exponentially, I trust that your publication can continue to rise to the occasion.
