Rain…we are over it!

The skies opened just before we were scheduled to play in last Wednesday’s 4BBB v Par round at Yamba; however, it didn’t deter the 13 partnerships who decided to play regardless.

Fortunately, the rain was short lived, and the round was played in sunny, clear conditions.

The course was still boggy in many parts, but we had an opportunity to play and that’s what mattered!

Congratulations go to the winners, Noni Rixon and Lyn Rowland (+3). According to Lyn, Noni played “out of her skin”.

Our NTP sponsors and winners: Tech Lab 3rd – NA; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Jen O’Neill; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Jill L Brown; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Margaret Fishburn; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Noni Rixon; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Jeanne Jensen and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Barb Roberts. Balls were awarded to -1 c/b.

It was most unfortunate that conditions weren’t the best last Friday because it was the 1st Round in the 4/6 Par event. With only 10 players completing their rounds out of an original field of 15, Fay Gimenez led the field with a great score +4. Congratulations Fay!

Our NTP winners were: Flots and Jets 3rd – Janelle Carpenter; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd) – NA; Peter Campbell Physio 9th (2nd) – Carrie Aitken; Kitchen to Table 10th – NA; Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Daphne Hinshaw; Nicholson’s Fine Foods 17th – NA and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd) – Judy Palich. Balls were awarded to -3.

Play in Round 3 of the 2022 Knockout Competition round has now been completed after many interruptions due to the wet weather. Jennifer Fagan will now play Fiona Smart in the Final Round after they were both successful in their respective matches against Sandra Russo and Lynne Donsworth. Good luck and congratulations for reaching the pointy end of the competition.

Best of luck to the 19 ladies from Yamba who will travel to Ballina to participate in their two-day event this Thursday and Friday.

We anticipate that size samples for our new club shirts will be available in the Pro Shop from this week. Ladies are encouraged to determine their correct shirt size so orders can be placed through Jamie and the Pro Shop staff in the oncoming weeks.

Hopefully, we will experience fine weather this week for our Monthly Medal Round on Wednesday. Good luck to all.

Happy golfing!
