Congratulations to the winners Lyn Briggs, Ros Duncan and Michelle Swan, and the runners up, Robyn Arthur, Leonie Lancaster and Pam Kennedy.

Fine weather was welcomed by everyone after an early morning shower threatened to spoil the day for the final of the Ladies Triples Club Championship on Tuesday April 26.

This competition was over the course of 3 days, starting on April 19.

Lyn Briggs, Ros Duncan & Michelle Swan d Kaylene Toovey, Kim Mogler & Margaret Gosper; Dianne Hadlow, Janny Franke & Carol Caldwell d The Golden Girls of Margaret Caldwell, Ann McCausland and Mary Arthur, who were previous winners 2 years in a row.

Two teams in the first round had byes and went through to play each other in the next round.

Robyn Arthur, Leonie Lancaster & Pamela Kennedy d Janice Blaxter, Leigh Bowers (sub for Jen Watson), & Denise Prentice.

In the semi finals there was a very close game with Pam Kennedy’s team defeating Denise Prentice’s team 23 – 22. This was an enthralling game and was anybody’s till the last end. It was a spectator’s delight.

The other semi had its moments of excitement too, with the scores very close in the course of the game and as happens sometimes we saw Michelle Swan’s team pulling away to defeat Carol Caldwell’s team 29 – 13. The score not indicative of the game.

The final game played out very competitively. Michelle Swan’s team d Pam Kennedy’s team 23 – 18. This too was a very close game, right to the last few ends and could easily have gone to an extra end. Congratulations on a well played game to all players.
