Yamba long boarder Frank Murphy is the new Australian junior longboard champion. The junior men’s final, held at Coffs Harbour, came down to a nail-biting final minute exchange with the lead ping-ponging back-and-forth between the finalists. However, with less than a minute remaining, Murphy posted a 6.35 wave score to defeat Nicholas Brewer (Castaways Beach, Qld) who was holding down the lead prior to Murphy’s wave. Keiren Thomas (Clifton Beach, Tas) was third, followed by Khi Williams (Marion, SA). Meanwhile, Murphy came third in the Junior Loggers division, behind Jye Whyatt (Torquay, Vic) and Brewer, with Victorian Billy Whitton, fourth.
