Palm Lake’s ‘Peter’ shall remain nameless

A bit chilly last Tuesday week for the final Stableford round in August but it didn’t deter our group and we even had visitors from Maclean as well as a new starter in Ray Stevens to boost our numbers.

What a tussle it turned out to be with Bruce Douglass sneaking home with a good 21 points. Then the fun started with four players on 20 points (needing to be separated by count backs). This resulted in Alex Miltiadou taking second place from Terry Wilson in third leaving Ken Hall and Steve Dorrell on the same score but out of the placings. Better luck next time!

There were some really ordinary scores amongst the rest of the group, most of whom seemed to be playing for a bigger handicap but there was one person, who shall remain nameless, and managed to lose four balls in nine holes – naturally he returned a lousy score, didn’t he Peter?

Steve Dorrell managed to have his name on all three NTPs with a near miss on the 10th, another from the bunker on the 12th and a great shot on the 17th, only to be edged out by Bob Oddy by a couple of centimetres on that hole. Well done Steve.

Now September is here we can expect the mornings to be a little warmer, so we look forward to those who hibernate during the winter months to be back in action from now on. Anyone else who would like to join us for a game on Tuesday morning, simply be at the course at around 7.30 and we’ll fit you into one of our groups.
