Osprey RSL Day Club

Oh, what a beautiful morning. Oh, what a beautiful day. I feel like Shirley Jones in Oklahoma this morning, and a quick walk around my beautiful garden has put spring in my step again.

I just love this time of year when all my orchids are flowering, and the clivias burst forth in magnificent sprays of cream and vibrant orange. And not to forget the primulas with their purple and white heads bopping about around the fountain.

All that joy in my garden made it easy to accept the fact that a little bird told me you guys cheered and clapped when you didn’t have to exercise last week. I am surprised it wasn’t a standing ovation! And here is me, sick in bed not wanting to share my nasty cold with you all. A game of heads and tails at least got you off your seats and provided a bit of competitive fun, and a sweet win for Dorothy.

The “matching” quiz sounded fun, but I would have failed miserably as I really don’t watch much telly. Leanne said Nigel’s quiz was much harder…I mean who would know that 45 billion Tim Tams are eaten each year?

A very warm welcome to our newest members Peter, Brian and Patricia. It is just wonderful to know that our message is getting out into the community and people are now aware of Osprey and all it offers in the form friendship, laughter, morning tea, hot lunch and so much more. If you are reading this and are not a member, but would like more information, or would just like to come along and try us out, please call Leanne on 0413 101 518, and she will organise the bus to pick you up if you require transport. You’ll never, never know if you never, never go.

Edward won the Savoury prize and waltzed home with cheese and crackers to go with the wine he won the week before…if there is any left!

Rita won a Free Day, and Brian chose a $20 Coles voucher.

Lyn L won a Coles voucher in her blue Pick-a-Box.

That’s all folks.
