Osprey RSL Day Club

Thank you all so much for your patience and compliance last Friday week when we made such swift changes to the venue and program. I think it all worked extremely well. The volunteers soon slipped back into the old format we used when we catered in the RSL Hall in days gone by.

We began with a delicious morning tea of home baked cakes and slices provided by Pat and Bev. There was enough to feed an army; and surprisingly enough, there were no leftovers. Beryl and Leanne slipped into the kitchen and whipped up a variety of beautiful fresh sambos in flash whilst we played our card games. Leanne also provided a lovely fruity chocolate treat for us to enjoy with our cuppa after lunch. What more could you have asked for? It was a lovely friendly day and we are most grateful to All Saints Church for allowing us to use the church facilities at such short notice. A donation was made to the church in appreciation, and it is gratifying to know that we can avail ourselves of that venue in the future should we have further disruptions to our regular venue at the Bowling club. So it was a win win situation for all concerned.

Guess what? We had another new visitor join our ranks this week. It was so nice to meet you Anne and I do hope you enjoyed your day enough to want to join our happy group on a regular basis.

As you know we are always ready to welcome new members but we are so hoping to find someone to join our group who plays 500. So if that person is YOU, please come along and make up a foursome. I promise you will have a wonderful time, and bring joy to a couple of card sharps.

Our numbers continue to grow which is more than pleasing; it’s exciting for volunteers and members alike. We meet every Friday at the Yamba Bowling Club between 10am and 1.45pm, the bowlo bus will pick you up and drop you off as required, you will be served morning tea and lunch; play cards, Rummikub, Uno, Scrabble etc. and Bingo…and the volunteers will spoil you! Should you want to know more please ring Leanne on 0413 101 518.
