NSW RFS calling for more volunteers

They are the largest volunteer fire service in the world and have more than 70000 dedicated members across NSW.

And you’re being invited to join them.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the lead combat agency for bushfires in the state, and their volunteers are ready to respond to callouts during emergencies including grass fires, house and structure fires, road accidents, and natural disasters such as floods and storms 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.

They are also equipped to assist in rescue and recovery operations and searches.

Volunteering with the NSW RFS offers you the opportunity to learn new and valuable skills that will not only assist you in your voluntary role but also in your day-to-day life and even your workplace.

Becoming a NSW RFS volunteer also presents you with an opportunity to meet new people, and it also allows you to be part of a wonderful tradition with an organisation that has a long and proud history.

The NSW RFS Clarence Valley District has recently welcomed several newly qualified members who have dutifully completed their training and are ready to help make a difference to their local community.

Keep a lookout in upcoming editions of the Clarence Valley Independent when we catch up with some of these new volunteers and share their stories with you.
