Northern Rivers invited to have a say on future crown land strategy

Northern Rivers Crown land managers, tenure holders, trusts, councils and the wider community should have their say on the draft Community Engagement Strategy for Crown land, according to Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Planning and Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis, Tweed MP Geoff Provest and Lismore MP Thomas George. Mr Gulaptis said the strategy would outline requirements for engagement on dealings such as licences, leases and sales. “Reserve Trusts are getting Government grants to upgrade but we need to find an even better way,” Mr Gulaptis said. Lismore MP Thomas George said the strategy was essential to improve transparency and meaningful engagement with the community on Crown land decisions. “Community and stakeholder feedback on the draft strategy will play a vital role in ensuring its practicality and relevance to all Northern Rivers people who manage and use Crown land,” Mr George said.
