Organising an affordable wedding in NSW is now even easier thanks to the launch of a new online service via the NSW Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages (the Registry), which helps navigate the legal requirements of marriage.
Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Victor Dominello said couples needed to look no further than the Registry’s new ‘wish list picker’ for information to guide couples through planning a wedding.
“Organising a wedding is exciting but can be time consuming and stressful, with the average couple often spending more than $35,000 on their big day,” Mr Dominello said.
“Registry weddings start at $469 and this new online service takes the hassle out of the process by allowing couples to customise their dream day with the click of a button.
“Couples can simply go online and create a wedding wish list with the Registry tailored to suit their style and budget – including booking a ceremony location, reception venue, accommodation, floral and photography packages.”
The wish list picker is available for customers booking a micro-wedding, Registry wedding or vow renewal through the Registry. Options available are dependent on the service and location booked.
All legal requirements are taken care of through a Registry wedding – from a celebrant, lodgement of notice of intention to marry, as well as two wedding certificates: one standard and one commemorative.
