New grants to help celebrate NAIDOC week

The NSW Government is backing local NAIDOC celebrations in the Clarence Valley with two organisations being successful in their respective grant applications, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“NAIDOC Week is all about celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our great nation,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“I am pleased the NSW Government has come to the party with modest but important financial support to celebrate NAIDOC Week which runs from 7-14 July.

“We are backing the Gurehlgam Corporation in Grafton with $3000 to run a family fun day across five Aboriginal communities and the Nungera Co-operative in Maclean has won $3000 to hold an Aboriginal Debutante Ball.”
