Monday, February 1 saw the Maclean RSL Women’s Auxiliary hold its AGM followed by the first general meeting of the year.
President Lynda welcomed Mavis Goodlad, Far North Coast Area Group Councillor, to the meeting. The Ode was recited and thoughts given to those members experiencing bereavement or illness within their family. Minutes of the 2015 AGM were read and accepted. Mrs Goodlad then took the chair and oversaw the election of office bearers as follows:
President: Lynda Leslie; Secretary: Jan Parker; Treasurer: June Stubbs; Vice Presidents: Ann Richards and Carol Young; Patron: Vera Montague. The new Executive was congratulated on their appointment and presented with their badges. Mrs Goodlad went on to thank the Auxiliary for their hard work and assistance to the Sub-branch during 2015 and wished them good luck with their fundraising in coming year.
The February general meeting followed after a short break. Minutes of the December 2015 meeting were read and accepted as was the correspondence and Treasurer’s report. The meeting went on to discuss details for Anzac Day and other fundraising activities during the year. There being no further business the meeting closed at 11.30pm. The March meeting will be held on Monday, March 7 at 10am in the River Rooms of the Maclean Services Club. We are always looking for new members so any lady who is interested in joining our Auxiliary, please come along to any of our monthly meetings which are held on the first Monday of the month at 10am in the River Rooms of the Maclean Services Club. Please note that you do not have to be associated to Defence in any way but just have a desire to assist in our fundraising efforts which go towards our ex-serving and current serving members and their families.
