Memorial service for HMAS Melbourne/HMAS Voyager

Monday February 10 will be the 56th anniversary of the loss of 82 officers, sailors and two dock-yard tiffies, following collision between the flagship of the Australian fleet, the 20,000 ton Aircraft carrier, HMAS Melbourne and the 4,000 ton Daring Class Destroyer, HMAS Voyager, off Jervis Bay.

The Naval & Mariners Association, Clarence Valley Inc will conduct a memorial service and wreath-laying at the Maclean cenotaph, on February 10. Muster will be at 1045 and the service will commence at 1100, led by the president, John Bloom.

Former members of the Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Merchant Navy and members of the general community are invited to attend and lay a wreath or tribute in memory.
