Maclean Sport Centre Futsal grand final

Squash – Last week’s results: Lauren Illig & Tony Berger had a marathon five set match that could of gone either way, but it was Lauren who came away with the win in the final few points 15-13 & just winning on points (65-64); Ray Hoad def Sandra Jenkins 15-10; Rod Hodson def Danny Wilson 15-9 and two of our top players Ashton Anderson and Tony McFarlane showed some top quality squash with Ashton def Tony 15-9 in the fifth. Cricket – Last week’s results: Brushgrove def Home Hardware 115-104. Brushgrove Jason Allen top scoring with 23 runs and taking 3/-2 and Michael Essex 28 runs and James 2/17; Blue Ones def White Ones 131-114. Best for the Blue Ones was Michael Ryan scoring 44 runs and nephew Blake Ryan taking 4/-11 and for White Ones Greg Walker top scored with 56 runs, with son Brady Walker taking 3/3; GIO Gents def Tradies 122-63. Best for GIO Gents was Matt Passlow taking 4/-14 and Nathan Essex scoring 26 runs. Jason McMahon 3/6 & Kyle Robert 23 runs were Tradies best. Futsal Juniors – Last week we had over fifty juniors showing up once more. If there is anyone interested, come along on a Wednesday afternoon at 3.45pm and we will put you into a team. Seniors – Last week we had the senior mixed Futsal grand final. Both teams had played each other twice in this competition, with a win a piece, so it was always going to be a tough match. The Fam def Jungle Juice 9-6 in one the best games played at the Centre this year. Best for The Fam was Cooper Simmons, scoring some great goals and along with his father Geoff saving some great goals at the other end. Jungle Juice best players were Josh Arndell & Chad Barber. A big thank you to all the referees who have helped out and to Peter Brossman for doing a great job in the grand final. New competitions starting now. All new players and teams would be made most welcome. Netball – Last week’s results: Fired Up def Illuka 25-18; Bottoms Up def Bush Bugs 22-10; Lawrence def Blue Skies 25-7.
