Wednesday Skins
With probably the biggest field post Covid, Skins is becoming very competitive. Mick Rogers left all in his wake, playing at the end of the field, his magnificent five Skins was well clear of the rest of the also rans.
Next Wednesday Skins is contributing to the breast and prostate cancer charity day, so another bumper bunch is expected.
Thursday Medley Stableford (sponsored by the Maclean Hotel)
Another brilliant day with course conditions at their best.
In A Grade, Rod Smith took the first prize on c/b from Simon Birchall from Yamba. Both had 39 points.

In B Grade Glen Essex will expect some downward movement in his handicap after a dominant 39 points win; Graham Edwards was just closed out on 38 points to come second.
Ball prizes down to Milo on 34 points.
Nearest the pin prizes for Stephen Cameron on the 2nd, Geoff Grayson pulled up just short on 7th and Peter Dowling just grazed the cup on 11th. Wayne Hinchcliffe got on to climb the bank at the back of the 17th green for the prize.
Of note today, in an otherwise quiet round, Mark Rae demolished the par four tenth hole when his tee shot hit the pin so hard it ricocheted a distance away and he had to settle for a birdie.
Saturday men’s Monthly Medal Stroke
In A Grade showing great power and aggression Mark Rae carded five birdies in his winning nett 70; Mark Hemmy showed again his recent consistent form, to record the same nett score only losing on c/b; Stephen Potter came in just one shot back to take third.
In B Grade Matt Young had the score of the day. His nett 67 was only just good enough to pip Bill Rorke on 68 with Leigh Wilson just behind on 70.
Ball prizes down to 76 with the resurrected Patrick Vacciano just in the frame.
Nearest the pin on 2nd hole was the ever-accurate Richard Parker very close to the tricky hole position, which favoured his natural power fade.
Geoffrey Grayson repeated Thursday’s feat on the 7th and Mark Hemmy trickled one upon to the 11th to get the prize. The Thistle prize on the ninth (a slab of the clubs own Thistle lager by Sanctus Brewery) was almost a formality for Mark Rae whose drive was far enough to make his second shot a mere flick.
Mixed Foursomes’ Championship
On a perfect Sunday, a prestigious field hotly contested the day 27 holes of gruelling golf from the championship tees on the day after a monthly medal. A tough ask but with a gross score of 134 John and Vero were four shots clear of Peter Fitzpatrick and Kylie Ryan.Miles James
