Yamba lady golfers go Pink

There were 59 players in Wednesday’s Texas Stableford round which was the fundraiser for Tee Off For Cancer.

Through the purchase of Mulligans, and raffle ticket sales, a grand total of $779 was raised, so thanks go to all who contributed so generously. It was also great to welcome some of the 9 Hole players into our teams! Ladies are to be acknowledged for embracing this fundraiser so keenly.

Sandra Russo won the ‘Best Dressed in Pink’ prize and, in the Pro Shop, Irvine and Jamie both also got into the swing of things, looking fabulous in their pink attire. Jennifer Moody, Jean Whitby, Shellee Clare and Lisa Marsh (117) won the daily event ahead of Janine Zietsch, Gail Scobie, Joy Williams and Kathy Hardaker (112). Our NTP sponsors and winners were Tech Lab 3rd – Kathy Lollback; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Darrie Nightingale; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Mary Hogan; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Sue Skelton, The Shoe Boutique 12th – Sandra Russo; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Jenny Muir and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Prue Leggoe. Balls to 111.

This Wednesday’s round will be Single Stableford which will be the first opportunity for players to be handicapped at Yamba since mid-August. Last Friday’s 4th Round of the Single Par 4/6 Event did not go ahead due to rain so that game has now been rescheduled to take place this Friday.

Ladies are reminded that our upcoming October Tournament entry forms can be found on the YGCC website and in the folder located in the Golfers’ Lounge. Entries close on Monday, September 26 and should be finalised through Reception. Entries for the Maclean 2 Day Open Tournament to be held on September 26-27 close next Tuesday.
