Fathers, sons, husband’s grandfathers, brothers and friends came together at the Maclean Hotel on Saturday night, for the Maclean Fire and Rescue NSW [FRNSW] Movember fundraiser.
For the month of November the Maclean FRNSW crew have thrown their support into drawing awareness and raising money for men’s health issues, by growing a moustache.
Some of these men’s health issues include; testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental illness, suicide prevention and men’s general health issues.
Maclean Fire Station crew member Richelle Staveley said that the event is a good opportunity to get together with the men in our lives to thank them for what they contribute to our communities and families in the Clarence Valley, whilst drawing attention to mental health issues.
“The Movember foundation has supported 1200 men’s health projects nationwide such as New Access, Like Father like Son, Mindmax and Momen TIM, among others.
Richelle said that Saturday’s night of fun included a Mo competition, live music, a ‘shearing’ and raffle and this year’s Movember raised just under $3000.
