The Maclean Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) are grooming their moustaches in preparation for their Movember fundraiser at the Maclean ‘Top Pub’ (Maclean Hotel,) on November 26, from 4pm.
The Movember charity foundation tackles men’s health issues and addresses some of the most pressing issues concerning men’s health; prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention.
For Maclean Fire Brigade member Richelle Staveley, mental health issues are close to her heart, after she lost a brother to suicide seven years ago.
“My father also suffered with schizophrenia from the age of 30,” said Ms Staveley.
“So many suffer from mental health issues and feel very alone.
“Team 372 Maclean will be hosting the Movember fundraiser which will be in the form of a jam session at the Top Pub and we’re calling on the community to get behind the Maclean FRNSW and support them to support you, your husband’s, your brother’s, your uncle’s, your father’s and your son’s.
Donation tins are available at the following locations: Maclean Toyworld, BWS Yamba and Home Hardware at Townsend.
The ‘Show us your Mo’ jam session will be an afternoon of music and family fun, with raffles and prizes.
