Maclean firies get recognition for service

  Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Commissioner Greg Mullins has presented four members of the Maclean FRNSW unit with medals, in recognition for their dedicated service to the community. The Maclean fire-fighter’s were among the 13 north coast fire officers and fire fighters’ to receive medals at a special ceremony, held in Ballina recently. The medals were presented to: Maclean captain Owen Gray – 20 years service, Barry Plater – 25 years service (National Medal), David Headon – 15 years service (National Medal) and Len Bebb – 10 years service. Maclean captain Owen Gray said that it was a great experience (to have their medals presented by the commissioner). “The commissioner doesn’t get up here very often,” said Mr Gray. “We’d like to thank our family, friends and employers for their support and allowing us to be involved in the FRNSW.”
