Maclean Bravehearts – hitting sixes

Last Tuesday August 4 the Bravehearts group played the exciting format of ‘split sixes’. It is exciting because it doesn’t matter what you score as long as you beat your playing partners. It is played in groups of three and 6 points are allocated for each hole, 4 for the outright winner, 2 for 2nd and 0 for 3rd. If the hole is halved by two players it is 3 each, by 3 players 2 each and so on.

John Lockwood looked a certain winner after 5-holes but crashed on the last 2 holes getting 0 on both. John Hopkins and Gary Taylor were neck and neck with 2-holes to play but John scored max on the last holes to edge out Gary as the eventual winner collecting the much valued Caperberry $20 voucher donated by Nick and James of the Caperberry cafe in Yamba (magnificent meals and coffee in the heart of Yamba). Gary collected an Italian on the Hill voucher. John Lockwood wasn’t to be left out and scored a NTP on the 2nd picking up a Sweet and Spicy voucher from that highly rated cafe in Yamba.

On the Eclectic card John Lockwood improved his score on 4 holes, Gary on 2 holes. Sadly, John H didn’t improve on any.

On August 23 we have to postpone our game as there is a ladies tournament. Please join us on Friday August 25 at 2pm instead, for another great game at Maclean Golf Club.
