In November, our guest speaker was Brian Newman from the Woolgoolga Orchid Society, who shared his appreciated experience on Catasetums. At the meeting 60 plants were benched, and member Brian Donaghy got a triple win! Popular Vote Orchid with his elegant Phalaenopsis Sogo Kitty ‘Orchis,’ and both Judges’ Choice and Popular Vote Flower, a striking yellow Gladioli. Congratulations also to Joan Scadden for her Judges’ Choice Orchid winner, the lovely interesting Encyclia alata. Our end of year Christmas celebration is on Saturday noon, December 19 at our president’s home, for a sausage sizzle plus afternoon tea.
