Local access road at Halfway Creek opens to traffic

The local access road at Halfway Creek will open to traffic on March 10, weather permitting, to give local residents safer access to their properties, Clarence MP, Chris Gulaptis announced last week. “The access road has been built as part of the Australian and NSW governments $4.36 billion Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade,” Mr Gulaptis said “The 1.2 kilometre road will be positioned parallel to the upgraded Pacific Highway and road users will be able to access it via McPhillips Road. “Access to and from the Pacific Highway from McPhillips Road will remain the same. “When the upgrade is complete, there will be a dedicated left in, left out turn for McPhillips Road for southbound traffic, and a dedicated right in turn for northbound traffic to McPhillips Road. “Local traffic on the access road will give way to traffic on McPhillips Road and school buses will be routed to drop off students at the intersection of the highway and McPhillips Road,” Mr Gulaptis said.
