LC Rowing Club enjoy last club regatta for season

Last regatta for the season for LC rowers

The Tweed Rowing Club Regatta was held recently at Grafton as they are still unable to hold regattas at Murwillumbah due to 2022 flood damage. Would like to thank the Grafton Rowing Club for kindly making their course available for Tweed and Murwillumbah clubs to use during this past season.

Lower Clarence rowers finished off the season with everyone rowing well and having a good day.

Results

Mandy Steel won the WMHcp single scull with Clare Millist 3rd. Both girls were then joined by Fiona Smith and Lisa Plummer in the WMHcp quad which they won after a hard-fought race against the Grafton crew.

Mandy and Clare finished their day by winning the WMHcp double.

Anthony Spanidis had a great win in the Men’s Hcp single scull with Jake Moore chasing him down the river to finish 2nd. Both boys were 3rd in the MHcp double.

Cody Hamel and Rene San Andres finished 2nd in both the MHcp double scull and Men’s Open double scull. This is the first year for them in the Open division.

In the Men’s Open single scull Cody Hamel had a good result finishing 2nd and Rene 4th.

Ashley Hamel had a great row to finish 4th in the WHcp single with Chelsea Goldie 4th.

Congratulations to everyone. Thank you, Mark Goldie and David Hailes, for towing the trailer throughout the season. Thank you to Keryn Saunders, Dee McIntyre and Fiona Smith for keeping us safe on the water as BRO’s during the season.

Finally, it is not possible without the help from the parents throughout the season for which I thank them all very much.
