Lawrence Museum garage sale success

cvi   The annual Lawrence Museum garage sale on Saturday April 2 turned out to be a resounding success. Buyers were already waiting in the cool misty morning, as the gates opened, to find themselves the best bargains from the huge array of goods. People streamed in continuously throughout the morning, some leaving with armfuls of goods. Museum Vice President Rae Harrison was delighted with the results, “this year we believe we have raised almost $5,000 for the museum. We are grateful to all who donated the goods for the sale. “ The raffle first prize, a portable BBQ was won by Clive Edwards of Maclean and second prize was won by Les & Jan Parker of Lawrence, The winning tickets were drawn by Rick & Jasmine Skinner, of Seelands. The Museum is currently fundraising to build a new shed. The new building is needed to enable the Museum to preserve and display more of our rural and river heritage items The Lawrence Museum is open Tuesdays from 9am to 1pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm.
