Ladies’ Scramble to Yamba girls

The Ladies’ Scramble is one of many highlights in the Yamba Golf & Country Club’s golfing calendar and this year’s event was no exception.

The 12 participating teams were treated to exceptional weather conditions and Yamba’s course was playing at its absolute best last Friday.

As is usually the case, scores were close; however, it was Yamba’s winning combination of Kathy Parker, Margaret Fishburn, Julie Campbell and Barbara Roberts that won the day with a score of 61.12. The runners up, also hailing from Yamba, were Fiona Smart, Carol MacPherson, Suzie Prosser and Lisa Marsh with their score of 61.5. The Maclean team of Kim Wiblen, Rhoda Pedrana, Sandra Youlten and Veronique Morgan were placed 3rd (62.62) while Yamba ladies, Janine Zietsch, Janelle Carpenter, Noni Rixon and Vicki Davies took out 4th position (63.12).
The NTP were won by: 3rd (0-30) – Suzie Prosser; 3rd 2nd shot (31+) – Joan Berry; 9th – Julie Campbell; 10th (0-30) – Val Pate; 10th 2nd shot (31+) – Noni Rixon; 12th – Janine Zietsch; 17th (0-30) – Sue Petty and 17th 2nd shot (31+) – Louise Horan.
Many thanks go to the 48 ladies who participated so keenly. As always, Callaway Golf provided amazing prizes which included an Odyssey DFX Double Wide Putter for each of the winning team members. Many thanks also go to Club Professional, Jamie Corkill, Pro Shop Staff and Jane Bonner who all contributed to make the day a success.
Best wishes go to Kathy, Margaret, Julie and Barbara who will travel away with Jamie Corkill later in the year to represent Yamba Golf & Country Club at The Scramble Regional Finals.
