Artist Kade Valja will be launching his third solo exhibition ‘STEPPENWOLF’ this Sunday August 25 from 6pm, at Flow Space Gallery, South Grafton.

Kade said that his exhibition was inspired by the book STEPPENWOLF written by Hermann Hesse.

“It (the book) really resinated with my current life experiences and a lot of it is about shape shifting and seeing yourself in different forms – so you will notice a lot of the work is similar, but it’s formulated differently,” Kade said.

“A lot of it is created more from a feeling instead of an idea, so it’s quite an expressive, raw, kind of show,” he said.

Kade’s multi-faceted exhibition has works created on canvas, paintings onto the walls and sculpture with a kind of industrial twist.

The exhibition will feature Augmented Reality (AR) activated paintings which can be viewed via the Artivive app that can be downloaded on your smart phone, to experience the activation.

The official launch of Kade’s exhibition on Sunday will feature entertainment by experimental band from Brisbane, “Death by Carrot” and local entertainer “Terry D”.

Kade has also recently collaborated with New England Brewery of Uralla, with a new 500ml craft beverage titled ‘Citrus Stranger’ which features Kades original designs, which will also be making an appearance on opening night.
