Jennifer Fagan takes Yamba Friday Stableford

Conditions over the past week have been idyllic with warm, sunny days following crisp morning starts. Last Wednesday, there were 68 ladies who participated in a three person Ambrose.

Our winners, Jennifer Fagan, Di Sigle and Irene Williams scored 62.5 while the runners up, Irene Williams, Bev Eckhardt and Angie Walpole came in with 63 c/b.

The best putters were Dot Latham, Toni Elliott and Deirdre Gough. Dot, Toni and Deirdre also won the NTP on the 3rd; Carrie Aitken, Jenny Dewar and Lyn Bartley won the 12th hole NTP. Balls were awarded to 63.333.

Friday’s conditions were very kind until a blustery wind arrived for the 52 ladies, including three visitors, who played in the single Stableford event.

Div 1 was won by Jennifer Fagan (36pts c/b) who continues to play consistent golf. Jennifer was just ahead of Helen Collins also on 36pts. Div 2 was won by Jean Whitby (34pts c/b) and Jenny Muir was r/up also with 34pts.

The highest score of the day was that of Jo Foley (37pts) with Sonya McLennan scoring a very credible 36pts as r/up.

NTP prizes, which have been generously sponsored by Flots and Jets, Valley Finance, Peter Campbell Physio, Kitchen to Table, Melt Massage and Beauty, Yamba Ladies Golf and Yamba Pharmacy were won by: Margaret Moulten-Ware (3rd), Lyn Saggers (2nd shot on 3rd), Jennifer Fagan (2nd shot on 9th), Helen Collins (10th), Jill L Brown (12th), Val Pate (17th) and Lyn Saggers (2nd shot on 17th). Balls were awarded to 33pts c/b.

It was a lovely crisp morning last Saturday with blue skies and perfect conditions for the six ladies who played. Jane Bonner, playing some impressive golf, won with 35pts and Gwynne Thomas was r/up with 33pts.

Kathy Parker won the NTP. Balls were awarded to 32pts c/b.

During the duration of cool weather, soup will be available for lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays following requests from some of the ladies. Your support is needed to ensure this continues.

This week’s Wednesday event is a single Stableford followed by Round 1 of the Ladies’ Championships on Friday. Good luck to all ladies who have nominated to play.

Happy golfing!
